Nostalgia hitting me that we’re about to have Lady Gaga’s SEVENTH studio album and I still remember the damn day I bought LG1 as a teenager

I remember getting on a bus with my family to go on vacation and my uncle played Poker Face on his phone. I was thrown off by such a weird ass song. But I was hooked :enigma:

To be fair we don’t really know anything yet. For all we know they’re fake. These could easily be promo photos or photos from the album’s shoot too, but we don’t know anything. I feel that way about every era. It takes me a minute to adjust to the new aesthetic, but they always (except one ) grow on me. I will say though, that image of her in the pink metallic panties in a crab-walk still makes me angry even though Chromatica is in her top 2 albums shoots for me.

yeah I think it’s safe to say everyone GAGGED at Chromatica cover because we were coming from Joanne which was also a long distance in between albums.

and actually I think the cover went kinda viral which contributed to the hype A LOT. I have friends who don’t even like her listen to Chromatica and they said it was good (because it is).

Like it’s so wild to me that I went from listening to just dance feeling like a lonely gay artsy loser and now I’m a happily married man about to hopefully adopt kids soon in a job I love like I really GREW UP with this woman as the soundtrack to my life

meanwhile I'm still a lonely gay artsy loser 7.5 albums later :franminervini:

I seriously love the album cover(s).

They are dark but in a grounded and realistic way. I think I prefer this to the high camp of the Disease MV, which felt false in places. Though I do recognise there's a disconnect.

Can we also just celebrate her not trying to look conventionally-beautiful again? I adore it when she rebels against beauty standards and 'main pop girl' expectations (because she's so much more than that). This is why I've always had a very strong aversion to Haus Labs and how she's often tried to replicate the 'Kim K' look over the years.

To see Gaga go for an album cover that's totally stripped back, raw and unpretty in the conventional sense is amazing. It suggests to me that she doesn't care about conforming right now, which means that whatever she's putting out is because she wholeheartedly believes in it (unlike Chromatica). It makes me excited to experience her vision again.

Where are all the remixes for DWAS and Disease? :triggered:

What kinda marketing is this? She used to have like 10 remixes for each single and now nothing... :saladga:

Spoiler

I want her to be sellout again like she is with Haus Labs :grr::deadbanana:

I feel like it's all pretty cohesive, no?

She's going for a dark, gothic era. There were elements of the in TFM and BTW, but I feel like it's much more present now.

Disease visuals - Dark, gothic
The title - "Mayhem" means chaotic, which is a word ("chaos" more specifically) that she's used a lot when describing the album
The sound of disease - Again, it's a dark electronic/industrial/dance pop song
CBT premiere outfits - The black hair + white car outfit specifically references the Disease MV
Image from the her website - She's wearing black, in black hair, the picture's in greyscale, there's a broken mirror...it feels "dark," which is what she's going for

Where are the DWAS visuals though? :wtfga:

For me she looks GORGEOUS, i have no clue how so people are saying bad things.

Sure, it's not the most standard look ever but she really makes it work.

Next week (starting from Tuesday because tomorrow is  holiday here) I could potentially get the call from the job of my dreams and imagine if in the same week Gaga announces something LG7 related. A dream, literally.

Lol Just ready this how was it

I'm hoping they're not the actual album cover(s) but I know I'm being delusional.

They're alright I guess? I was expecting to be shook, it's giving TFM but not as iconic?
