Honestly I feel like official announcements encourage leakers more because it gives them more solid details to look for and depending on what gets announced it tells them where to look.

Right now, Gaga can announce the album name and pre-orders if the album comes out within the 1st two weeks. Tracklist can be announced later. If it comes in the later half of February, announcement in mid-January makes more sense.

Yeah, announcing the tracklist early can give ideas for hackers what to look for.

I don't think anything will leak now if she announces something, the Chromatica leaks always came from demos or audio recorded from photo shoots like with Babylon. I just hope she does something today, even if it's just a selfie in the studio or has some kind of puzzle like Disease, it's not being very nice.

im kinda worried about first week sales, like... the clock is ticking, there are no disease physicals and it's good to have a bit of time to get the sales going, the release is next (allegedly) next month

Is it? I always see people say this, but I feel like she announces things randomly tbh. I mean, she didn’t formally announce DWAS until the day before it released.
