So far up until now everything on Apple's iOS was owned, controlled by Apple itself and all App developper had to give 30% directly to Apple for each App and App-in purchases. Starting in 2024, other appstores, apps from foreign sources and other payments must be allowed in the European Union. However, Apple is already planning to circumvent the EU plan by only allowing pre-authorized apps that Apple must approve in advance.

this is absolutely terrible. just gonna cause even more scam apps to flood iPhones and steal data. EU creating more problems than solving them as usual

I don't know about the commission or payment methods, but I'm totally in favor of them having control or approval of what gets into the store/system. Otherwise it can be a security risk/open the door to many questionable apps.
