Journalist detained in Transnistria for filming protests

TV8 reporter Viorica Tătaru, was detained in Tiraspol while filming the protest organized by the separatist authorities in Transnistria. 

"I asked for permission to let the house know where I am so they don't look for me and worry. We were detained while asking people why they came to the protest, what are their demands. They detained us and took us to the so-called Ministry of Security, two of them who presented themselves as collaborators. 

Hundreds of people with placards and the flag of the separatist region in their hands gathered in the Theater Square, from where they started the march led by the Transnistrian leader Vadim Krasnoselski. The reason is the same - dissatisfaction with the provisions of the new Customs Code aimed at economic agents in the region. T

The two journalists were released after the Promo-LEX association, the Reintegration Bureau and media NGOs condemned their detention and asked the separatist authorities not to violate the media's rights to free information.
