The artwork used for the cover is by one of Adolf Hitler’s favorite artists and also appears to be inspired by Norwegian black metal singer Burzum who is a well-known neo-Nazi.

It's important to note that Caspar David Friedrich's work was appropriated by Nazis without the artist himself having anything to do with that ideology, so his art can be enjoyed in good conscience. He was a German Romanticist painter and died long before even the first World War. Thanks to Hitler coincidentally being a fan of his work and using Romanticism for his own agenda, it took decades for this artist's reputation to be reestablished. So Kanye and any other unhinged Nazi should stay far away from Friedrich's imagery.

This is not one of his better known works, by the way, and it doesn't do his oeuvre justice at all. Check out his paintings if you like landscapes and dark imagery, he has some amazing pieces. That album cover is a mess, Friedrich must be rolling in his grave.

Of course the world’s most famous Neo Nazi (Kanye) is gonna use Nazi symbolism in his work :icant: the way this dude gets a pass for everything is insane. Giving Trump vibes ngl :icant:
