The song is great but the video felt a little underwhelming.

I love this kind of effort being put into pop music videos again! An actual concept with great choreo! Love love love it!

Agreed, I think she's bringing back conceptual mv again and we are so here for it.

We've never expected ariana to snap on choreo so to me she did the thing!

But she snapped on Rain On Me, had her energy up, well at least for me

I mean, c'mon now, there's no denying how well put together the entire presentation is. The song is great, the message is important. It would be a lot easier to take this seriously if it didn't feel like such a blatant response to a scandal that has affected multiple people's real lives.

Girl, what happens if/when you meet someone new and fall for him, and decide you don't want Ethan anymore? Wrecked a home and made a major pop comeback centered around it? The critics are gonna keep doing their thing, she's probably not going to become LESS sensitive to the criticism at her age. Drawing attention to this just reads like using the scandal for some buzz rather than a profession of being proud about her stance.

All of that being said, I enjoyed listening and watching. Feeling confused about the lesson that's meant to be taken from the video and song lyrics... It feels like an appeasement in the hopes that the music will overshadow her personal life, which it might, but people are gonna continue to roast her regardless of bops.

I feel like this was my reaction when I heard what the song was about. I applaud people being unfazed by criticism but not caring what ppl think about homewrecking is not it.

That being said, I have to say, I'm a bit underwhelmed by this track, maybe I was expecting a lot more since I do think she's one of the more talented pop artists of her generation. I think this is just a one-off single to remind the GP about her existence. Hope she will be turning several notches up for her main album material.

I’m not someone who usually mixes art with the person, but for some reason, this really bothers me. She literally has helped break up a marriage and ruin a family with a newborn baby, and her reply is some bs song making her the victim, saying things like “I’m just trying to protect my energy” “I’m nothing but love and light,” “why are you so obsessed with my personal life?”

People make bad choices, but cmon… Acting like “poor innocent me, I'm just trying to make music and spread love” is ridiculous. It shows, to me, that she is SO disconnected from reality, because she’s acting like the tabloids are against her, when in fact, in real life, a  regular person WOULD be heavily criticized/ostracized for the actions that she made.

Plus, when one of her biggest songs, literally name drops every one of her  exes, so sorry, you can’t pick and choose what parts of your love life you get to monetize, and which parts you get to hide.

I dunno, starting off an album campaign in which she is blatantly saying “I’m a homewrecker, and yes?” is fine I guess, but trying to spin it to be she is a victim is just tasteless. I’m staring to think she’s a little bit of a narcissistic who is not a good person..

"Break up with your girlfriend coz I'm bored" :vegas: It's giving shameless self indulgence, enabled by the other person who is just as selfish to throw away something because of some lust. Many people who go through being cheated on or discarded with low/no notice for someone else, seem to have a really hard time recovering and most will always have those valid trust issues.

Maybe it's a sore spot for me, being someone who's been cheated on in relationships I really valued, that I'm just not amused or willing to gloss over it. My most recent ex is an Ari stan and he was referring to Ethan's wife as "the other b*tch", speaking of her as if she did something wrong for being upset and speaking up.

From what I've seen, a lot of her fans seem to think her behavior is pretty harmless. Infidelity is waaaaay too normalized, and honestly I don't think it'd be safe to date an Ari stan if you want stability or fidelity :laughga:

Ummmm I’d take “yes, and?” over any song from René Sance

River

I like it but the chorus is kinda so-so, the "yes and?" is not as iconic as they wanted it to be, it's kinda boring.

I could play the moderator, I can ban you, die sis.
