Gaga: February 2024

Chromatica is a great on paper album, a quick 6 month era designed to ride the ASIB hype and appeal to a broader range of dance music fans with digestible pop music. But in my opinion, no way was it built well enough (sonically or otherwise) to serve as her only solo pop album in a 7 year time frame (2017-2023), not to mention the completely butchered era that dreaded on and off for years (not Gaga’s fault… though I contemplate whether it would’ve been better to have ended that era in 2020 and toured it with new material in 2022 ala The Eras Tour).

For me personally, this is the quintessence of all her previous albums. Yes, it feels like Chromatica was created based on commercial success, so that it would be popular, because by that time she needed it. In general, Gaga performed each song with such dedication, love and joy. Isn't this a sign that the album was a success? Thank you.

She announced it the day after the btw Grammy's Performance and yes The HBO special did come out right before btw

I prefer not to expect anything too well thought tbh…

 

- She let Perfect Illusion rot

- She let Shallow rot (it ended up working in its favor, since the whole ASIB/BradGa/Oscars hype saved it and made it the monster smash it is)

- She let Stupid Love rot

- She let Love For Sale rot

 

I’d loooove to be wrong and have a really well structured era in terms of promo, but that hasn’t happened in 13 years for a solo album, and 10 years for a duet album.

Not sure the situation is comparable: the first 3 years of her career have been a continuous thing where previous eras melted into the next. She was still touring the Monster Ball when she started dropping BTW singles.

Nowadays, it’s undeniable that we’re experiencing clear pauses in-between projects, so I wouldn’t really see the point of reviving anything Chromatica related at this point.

I dislike the non-existent era, not the album.  It had so much wasted potential for music videos and everything.

I have high hopes that TCB film will be released around the same time as the lead single to live the hype. Especially since the leaked soundboard audios have been removed from YouTube.

Mid February, teasing single… announcing album and a late summer tour with a few festivals…. The first joker teaser …. And a week later she announces her pregnancy and cancels everything to delay it for 2 years….. that would be very much on brand
