Will WW3 happen within the next 5 years?

So, I've been thinking about the last 3 years and it seems things keep getting worse and worse. Conflicts are becoming more violent. Tensions are rising. Are we on the verge of WW3 and we don't know yet? Much like the Europeans sensed the tensions rising in the mid 1930s but didn't know what was coming.

Russia-Ukraine: continues to be a major escalation. Yesterday Russia threatened Finland, and today they sent a missile to intentionally cross Polish Airspace. Clearly they're sensing an America deprioritization of Europe and are starting to bully Finland and Poland. Europe's inability to sustain aid to Ukraine has convinced Russia that the Russian Industrial Complex is superior and can be favored in a long-term conflict.

Israel-Hamas: Needless to say, major source of tensions.

Houthis vs International Maritime Trade: Houthis in Yemen continue to threaten, distrupt or capture commercial tankers, leading many companies to halt Suez Canal traffic.

Iran proxies vs U.S: The U.S. military has already come under attack at least 100 times in the Middle East since October. This is a ticking bomb, one attack that goes too far and kills many U.S soldiers could start an uncontrollable spiral of escalation.

Azerbaijan vs Armenia: continues to be a source of tensions with short episodes of violence.

China vs Taiwan: This is the big one, if it were to happen, it'd officially start WW3. If this starts, expect violence to erupt all over the world. Russia will ramp up attacks on Europe, benefiting from U.S busyness with the pacific. Iran will probably attack Israel.

 

I honestly think we're closer than ever to WW3. There are three fronts: Europe, Middle East and Asia. The U.S simply cannot deal with all 3. The only thing that stands between the world and total chaos, is Xi Jinping's decision on whether to invade Taiwan or not. And the busier U.S gets with all of these other conflicts, the more inclined China will be to invade them.

I think the global attitude has become too individualistic to commit to a group effort like another world war unless some wacked out leader gets on their supervillian grind and announces they're gonna start attacking everyone. 

But I'm unfortunately very American about my knowledge on global attitudes, so what I think about this isn't really based on much except ✨️vibes✨️

 The U.S. military has already come under attack at least 100 times in the Middle East since October. ->>> The US military is not a victim in the Middle East, quite the other way so let's no go in *that direction*.  (Fair mention = While taking out ISIS was a good thing, ISIS itsel is a byproduct of America's Middle Eastern wars). And in Ukraine, NATO/Biden and Russia/Putin have 0 intentions to engange sincerely with each other; both sides (Russia and NATO) act upon their ambitions with no consideration of the other side, for instance after the war and Russia's failures, we stopped pretending Russia's red lines are that scarry and important.

But WW3 is coming. The writing is on the wall as has always been. We had Ukraine in 2021, the situation in Middle East in 2023, then Taiwan will come in 2024??? In 2022 I used to think the next 2 years are going to be lax and the real thing will start later, I believe the timeline is still correct.

Part of me though still feels like Russia will not attack a NATO member. But in that case, if the US doesn't intervene (with its own Army and people), NATO will be proven to be a lie. That being said, I have 0 desire to fight for any reason. I let it to the brave girlies, they can fight on my belalf.

In the modern world we live under the illusion that we are free when we are in fact dependent on technology and banks. Take these 2 things out and the modern man is dead! Of course when the war comes, people will be blackmailed into fighting, because the governments happen to control both the technology and banks upon which we rely on. Even in Ukraine, after the news that Zelensky will mobilize 500.000 men, there is a lot of resistance (more than I expected in fact, which is a bad sign because any given European country is 10x or 100x more weary about fighting a war - including Poland and the other Central or Eastern European states which are directly affected by Russia's ambitions).

That will probably part of the grand picture because with the US out of the picture, Russia and China will have a an easier time asserting their needs military. With the US distracted by a Civil War, Ukraine will be fully taken over by Russia in months/weeks(??), and Russia will then have direct access toward the NATO Eastern Flank members in this direction.

Honestly, it seems that this WW III talk is driven more by a sensationalist hunger for doom and gloom among the general public than something real.

Proxy wars are the new norm and have been for a while now. Rather than fantasizing about a cliché, I think it is more constructive to pay attention to the conflicts and systemic oppression that are already alive and well.

There have been countless wars around the globe since World War 2, not to mention the Cold War and the nuclear deterent. What would define a third world war at this point other than something that would change the global balance of power?

Open/direct military confrontation between two superpowers: U.S vs China, or U.S vs Russia.

U.S vs China is more likely. U.S position isn't looking very solid right now as the country is distracted by many conflitcs happening around the globe, Russia, Iran, Houthis etc.. and that's what could prompt China to seize the opportunity and invade Taiwan. 

Considering Taiwan produces 90%+ of the world's advanced semi-conductors, if U.S does not take action, it means the collapse of the U.S economy, which makes American involvement more likely.

In the last Biden-Xi meeting, Xi reportedly told Biden in explicit terms that China will reunify with Taiwan militarily.

We kinda live in a WWar already it’s been a while. I just think things have chance to get worse cybernetically that leans to psychological aspects speaking tbh, that’s the kinda of big war that appears to come. 
We just had a girl in Brazil who took her own life because of an fake news IA generated so that would be an example about what we can expect from now on IMO. 
We already know that China is on its way to be the biggest country economically so I feel like the technology environment is going to be the most important aspect about it to watch for.

And let's not forget about the rise of the far-right everywhere right now. I don't know if there's a place that will be safe to live in a few years from now.
