FfFfFfFF 58,113
While I believe the events are given disproportionate attention from the people who daydream of a color Revolution in Serbia (see tweet below ), I think the developments in this region of Europe deserve their own thread. The protest follow political elections in Serbia which were deemed to be a win for Vucic's party. President Aleksandar Vucic declared victory in a snap parliamentary election on Sunday, after pollsters projected his ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) was on track to easily win. Based on votes counted in a sample of polling stations, pollsters predicted the populist SNS won 46.2% of votes, while the opposition center-left Serbia Against Violence (SPN) alliance is set to come second with 23.2%. "This is an absolute victory and it makes me happy," Vucic said after projections were made. [Source] The opposition and international actors called the elections fraudulent; Russia warned the Russian-friendly government in Belgrad in advance of potential riots, says Serbia's lesbian MP Ana Brnabić. Fantina 3,438
I frequented most of the protests. The elections were fraudulent. There is no debating if. The reason why he keeps on winning is that he continues to coerce and bribe millions of people to vote for him. He continues to threaten people with their already low-paying jobs and pensions as a way to ensure their vote. The remainder (mostly old people) who vote for him only vote because he managed to brainwash them into thinking the opposition is full of criminals who work for foreign governments and want to rob people of their money. There is a lot of evidence of irregularities in these elections. Hundreds of evidence. These protests are nothing compared to what happened earlier this year where 30 000+ people gathered in front of our National Assembly to protest the inadequate response to the school shooting which happened in May this year. I won't go into full detail, but children died. Every week for a few months, people gathered in protest. There was no violence. If you compare those protests with these ones, you can tell something is different. His government bribes people to incite violence only so he can show how ironic the name Serbia-Against Violence really is. To show us as animals. The same thing happened a couple of years ago when he was overwhelmingly elected as president. He brought hooligans to incite violence which allowed him to call upon the police to restore order. But let's look at these videos, he sent armored cars, blocked multiple streets, beat up and used tear gas (which affects me even now) on his citizens. This happens every year when we protest for changes and call for an end in his dictatorship. I know it doesn't mean much but we are looking at the rest of the world hoping everyone can see just how big of a dictator he is. Don't let it fool you that our PM is a lesbian. She didn't do anything for LGBTQ+ rights in our country and her government actually banned Pride. She has a child with her partner while same-sex couples can't even do that in the country she is PM in. Until then, this is Elvira saying unpleasant dreams.
