TaylorSwift 162,283 Posted December 21, 2023 Share Posted December 21, 2023 An armed man opened fire in a university building in downtown Prague on Thursday, killing at least 15 people and sowing widespread panic with one of the Czech Republic’s worst mass shootings of its kind, police and the city’s rescue service said. The bloodshed took place in the philosophy department building of Charles University, where the shooter was a student, Prague Police Chief Martin Vondrasek said. He has not been named publicly. Police said they were still searching the area, including the balcony, for possible explosives and the building was evacuated. The gunman has been named as student David Kozak, 24, with police saying he took his own life after carrying out the horrific attack. He murdered his father in a nearby town before heading to the Czech capital where he began randomly shooting people from the balcony of Charles University Arts faculty. In the lead up to his killing spree, he is believed to have kept a diary on Telegram, writing: 'I want to do a school shooting and possibly suicide.'
