this theory reminds me when i listened to this part of thank u next, where I felt Ari was kinda singing between the genre of breaths you do when you talk as you cry (video with timestamp below)... nowadays I'm not so sure. because you can edit in the studio as you're producing, and you can take out the breathing, when you actually put breathing in it, it is predictable that someone can think the breathing is intentional and means something

Great observation, I listen to it every day and I never noticed it:kara:

i think she was preparing to sing so she took a deep breath to be able to sing :traumatica:

In many songs, she doesn’t :ohwell: and it’s a breath with no instrumentation behind so, who knows :ladyhaha:

It first does a few short beeps and then sustains the same note until the song fades out :ohwell:

That would be so epic if it was intentional :traumatica:

You’re not stupid. Intentional or just her prepping to sing, this is actually a really cool perspective/ concept for the album.

Thank you for speaking my mental language :holdmyhand:

Oooh nooo! I was in a hurry and messed up, I wasn’t mocking him. :franminervini:

Don’t worry, it didn’t even cross my mind, and even of it did I would’ve thought it was funny:kiss:

Also, is it something you always thought about or did this thread make you think about it? :flutter:

Schizophonic

There was a discussion about that beginning with I and ending with you, the breathing and the heartbeat plus the placing of btw and y&l when the album came out and I remember that she mentioned something along the lines of: “there is a reason the Bonustracks placed in between”

it's literally just half a second of her breathing in...at best it was left intentionally to keep the natural sound of singing, nothing more

Well normally you need to take a breath before you start singing.

Im not sure about that per day, but I know in TEOG the heart beat is intentional.

i also always thought with TEOG her voice intentionally going between lower to higher was almost like her interpreting the song as 2 people (her grandfather and grandmother), then in the chorus the two pitches come together and they sing together. Even in the beginning the vocalisations in time with the heart beat are low and high.
