What is that? An album?:oprah:

Yes, by Melanie Martinez. The first song is Death and the last song is Womb. It's kind of set in a liminal space between one life and the next (loosely). Death, an afterlife where she reflects on her life, then rebirth. Every song has a transition in between so it can be listened to as one whole thing

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

idk how i've never noticed the breath :messga: that's actually so cool if the breath and heartbeat thing being connected was intentional

this theory reminds me when i listened to this part of thank u next, where I felt Ari was kinda singing between the genre of breaths you do when you talk as you cry (video with timestamp below)... nowadays I'm not so sure. because you can edit in the studio as you're producing, and you can take out the breathing, when you actually put breathing in it, it is predictable that someone can think the breathing is intentional and means something

You’re not stupid. Intentional or just her prepping to sing, this is actually a really cool perspective/ concept for the album.

Yes, you are right. It’s no coincidence that an album called BORN this way starts with a breathe and ends with heartbeats and a song about death. Also, don’t forget the album starts with “I’m” and ends with “you”. Oh, her mind!!!

Even if it’s not on purpose that’s an amazing way to interpret it. Bringing me back to my English literature days  Give me the weird and out there analyses of art. They keep the experience alive
