Teletubby 134,114
Ariana Grande has not 'dropped' Scooter Braun because she is still contractually tied to her long-term manager for several more years, despite seeking new management with Brandon Creed. 'Although Ariana has indeed found new music management, she has not dropped or cut ties Scooter because she can't,' insiders close to the situation said. 'She continues to be contractually bound to Scooter as there are several long term contracts still in place. 'If Ariana were to release a new album tomorrow, she would still be obligated to pay Scooter in addition to Brandon. Nothing has changed there.' Earlier this year she shared several pictures with her collaborator Max Martin, which fans took as confirmation she is working on her eagerly awaited seventh album. Grande's decision to distance herself from Braun is said to stem from the scandal surrounding her alleged affair with her wicked costar, Slater. 'Ariana wanted Scooter to do an immediate intervention to salvage her image after being accused of breaking up Ethan's marriage,' the source continued. 'But Scooter was not there for her in her time of need and this just wasn't right to her.' source ⸜(• ◡•)⸝♡🐀💨🚽 1 11

SharGaga 2,906
The fact that she was in need of some PR damage control from Scooter is so funny to meIf anyone has heard her song 'Fantasize', it only adds to the homewrecker accusations. That and BWYGIB of course. 6

That and BWYGIB of course. Fantasize was an unreleased song written for a TV show and has no correlation to Ariana's personal life. As for BUWYGIB, if I'm not mistaken, is about wanting her boyfriend to break up with her because she realizes she's better off on her own. Or stop signing such lengthy and binding ones? Contracts are not always easy to get of. Maybe she can buy herself out but if the penalties are higher than just paying Scooter the rest of his contract for doing nothing why would she? Contracts can be a good thing in business to ensure ppl do what they promised to do. If legally binding contracts didnt exist and everything was left to trust and verbal agreements, no one could be held accountable to anything. Its also why they cant be too easy to get out of Unfortunately like nearly everything else in life theres downsides as well, and the most powerful very often can use contracts in shady or abusive ways. It'd prevent situations like Kesha being tied to Dr. Luke for so long or Ariana being tied to Scooter for "years to come" Sign for an album, resign for the next album if it went well. If not, sign with someone else or make a different deal or something. These artists seem to just sell their souls

A short contract wouldnt make u a slave now would it? I can understand when its a record label (not necessairily a manager tho) if they give u a big contract or decide they gonna push u to be a big artist, its reasonable to wanna make their money back tho. So i can understand multi-album contracts the first time they sign on cuz they are taking a risk on u and making a big investment (that if it pays off the artist will benefit also) But after that yeah its literally just taking advantage to try to force u to stay in forever. And id imagine they probably threaten to cut budget for marketing if u dont sign a contract for multiple albums when renewall comes up, making it hard to end the cycle Edited December 15, 2023 by Economy

BUtterfield 8 40,718
I mean I think that was obvious. Just means he and the management company will still receive a percent of her earnings until the contracts are over
