Its on there but its listed as being released in 2013, not 2023. So you gotta go into her singles/eps list and scroll down.

Her best album imo.

I feel like it’s THE album that solidified her as a solo legend. She’d been iconic in some ways but nothing compared to destiny’s child besides single ladies, in commercial iconography. Then BOOM this album. And it wasn’t just a surprise. It was AMAZING. It was pop rnb but still out there and new in ways she’d never really done before then.

even if lemonade and renaissance are “better” depending upon who you ask, self titled was the album that did THAT so they could too

See agreed but CIL was basically tail end of DC so it’s kinda like BTW in that it was going to be a success anyway, just to what degree? Single Ladies feels unequivocally like BEYONCÉ JUST BEYONCÉ levels of iconic. And the same goes for self titled especially after 4 did only okay commercially by her standards. CIL is like the “ofc it’s a classic bc it was the debut single we all hoped for”

but I feel like self titled was suuuuch a step away from the sound and image she’d cultivated up until that point. It was shocking, provocative, innovative. All that
