This is so weird how artists lately are still working on the album til 1 mjn before dropping it (Ye, Drake, Nicki, …)

I remember Gaga saying multiple times that she “finally” handed in the album about 1 month before the release, and she couldnt change anything anymore

what changed? Is it bcs of streaming? 
 

if something’s not ready yet why hype tf out of it? I guess you can talk about ir, but why the tour announcement and all that stuff if there is basically no album lmao

More likely to do with leaks, if we think pop fans are bad, I’m sure I remember one of Kanye’s albums being handed in and legit leaking almost a whole 6 months before it’s release. Similar also has happened to Nicki and Katy Perry before if I remember

this is only possible for artists who release their album only digitally and Nicki has vinyl, CD so her album had to be finished months ago.

now you have to turn in album 6+ months before release to have vinyl ready on release day since Billboard only count shipped copies.

Well then her vinyls wont be produced until after the album drops? Otherwise that would mean that there will me the pressed version and the digital cersion, and that would be too messy

vinyl and CD are out on on Friday and have 10 tracks. digital version is likely to have more tracks.
