don't understand why this is becoming a trend... 

like just release the full "extended" song to begin with?? or the "shortened version" was obviously cut down for a purpose (i.e. time, flow, quality of "extra" verses, etc.) so why then revert back to the version you cut things out from?

In all fairness, it’s not especially new. Artists used to release extended singles on vinyl in the 70s-80s

Ooph probably not the best time but I’ll take it. Sadly this is not the best time to release new music between all the Christmas music in your face and Taylor releasing a new track from The Vault. Hopefully the song gets more love in 2024.

Mainly because today record labels want shorter songs (under 3 minutes) to get more plays on spotify and so you dont skip. But fans and the artist would love to have the full version available.

I don’t think her label has many plans to promote this single until after the holidays to take advantage of the fact that she doesn’t blow up until radio pushes her. The song is growing quickly on there in the US.
