When I get old I really want to retire somewhere in Eastenr Europe partly because money I will save could probably go a longer way in Eastern Europe than if I stay in Canada in an advanced age BUT also because of how gorgeous it is. Such old historic cities and views. Romania in particular interests me because its landscape is very reminiscent of Canada to me (it is very forested and has beautiful mountains and lots of snow) and then also it has beautiful resort cities in the Black sea like Constanta etc which Canada obviously does not have (sadly lol). Keep in mind that when u move Countries you loose the old age security part of your pension which for most ppl (unless ur a high income earner most of your life) accounts for a good half of their retirement benefit payout. You would be stuck with only CPP so unless u got a lot of savings or unless the cost of living is THAT much lower, u do need to keep that factor in mind. Objectively speaking I can recognize Bulgaria's Black Sea coast is more beautiful than Romania's (all Romanians I know go on holiday in Varna). Also love the Rhodope mountains.
