This is Anna Lesko's best song though. :enigma: And interestingly it's more Russian/Ukrainian-sounding than Balkan (Anna lives in Romania but has East Slavic origins)

How about Inna's music? :unicorn: She is quite popular in LATAM, you might have heard some of her songs without knowing who was singing.

I only know her song Hot but that song is a timeless iconic bop! Potentially I know other songs without knowing it's her. Even tho I barely know her I know she's an icon in dance music :vegas:

It reminds me of Stereo Love, is that Balkan?

I mean we have the debate of whether or not Romania is Balkan, and according to many definions it is, so Stereo Love counts. And so does Dragostea din Tei by O-Zone and Mr Saxobeat by Alexandra Stan. :teehee:

But I guess Balkan music can mean

1) music influenced by local Balkan tunes like the turbofolk of Serbia

2) music generally created in a Balkan country even if it doesn't have any clear Balkan features

Also we have Toca Toca by Fly Project (Cuppcake remix) going viral on Tiktok and that's another Romanian/Balkan song. :air:

Then I've definitely dabbled in it, loved Alexandra Stan's music! I probably won't but if I did look more into it I'm sure I'd add a bunch of Balkan songs to my library. :vegas: I haven't heard the Cuppcake remix before but it was a bop! I thought it was gonna be a different tiktok song ahaha that I can't find!

On this note, I heard lots of Romanian songs on Tiktok lately.. but I bet nobody knows they are Romanian. Like lately I watched a Floptok compilation and one clip was using the sound of a SUPER EXPLICIT Romanian song :selena::messga: why did they use this particular song, were these pp even aware of the lyrics.. lots of questions.
