Far-right wins election in the Netherlands

I know lot of Muslim Indonesian diaspora in that country are very concern about this.

A lot of them posting on social media on how they feel and what future might hold for them. Either they are gonna move to neighboring EU countries with their NL husband and kids, or going to live in Indonesia although they never once been there or born there.

They have nothing to fear. The PVV has 37 of 150 seats in our parliament. All other parties, besides a very small one, would NEVER support the extreme ideas of the PVV. 

We have a constitution - that's very hard to change - which will protect them.

There are parties like the PVV in all EU countries, even in government.

What we call progressive Muslims, would be jailed in their home country and not considered Muslim. So expecting new migrants to be “progressive” is a pipe dream as it doesn’t exist. If you don’t agree, look at the stats in Uk. 30% want more than one wife, a majority believe that women should always obey a man no matter what and for the gays:

This is a survey from first, second and third generation migrants. The results would be far more extreme for new migrants 

I’m very surprised by these numbers because I always thought that multigenerational Muslims in the UK would be more progressive; being born and raised in the UK and all. 

I used to live in a country with a significant Muslim population (Singapore) and then moved to Europe and made more Muslim friends here. Back then, most held the belief that all gays should die. Fast forward, still about the same. It always shocked them to find out I’m gay but they did become more tolerant as I was always a good friend. I remember meeting a gay Muslim boy when we were both teens and he kinda latched on to me. He was really struggling with religion and his sexuality, and I think I gave him some peace of mind. Bottom line.. Islam is not progressive.

My brother just asked me if I know about Netherlands election. Anything changed since 23rd of November or has he have heard the “old” news just yet?
