She never mentioned her name. She just said a fan passed away before her show. She never paid tribute to her.

Why would she mention her name? What if her family don't want their daugher's name put out like that to her hundreds of millions of followers? Did you think about that?If anyone wants to know more after Taylor's IG story then google is your friend. It's all over the news anyway. And she did a performance that was an obivious tribute to her the best she knows how by singing.

Her family spoke out after Page Six released a PR article stating Taylor’s team reached them.

And she actually passed away during the show, not before.

Of course you mention her name when you supposed to pay tribute to someone. Because she had a life and a name. She’s more than just a “fan”. She didn’t even contact her family how will she know what they want? Gosh, I can’t believe how people become just to defend their faves. It’s so ridiculous.

Maybe her lawyers told her if you paid for the funeral, the family can sue you as it shows shes guilty. And im also sure shes scared the story was going to be a big scandals.

Idk if that'd be an admission of responsibility or guilt when it comes to the fan's death regardless of the legal system.

And I don't think anyone in their right mind would blame her for it either, much of the issue with the show was how the venue itself handled the heat and she's not responsible for that.

She could have called off the show, I guess, but you don't get in legal trouble for not being able to tell the future.

I dunno :enigma:

I think posting her name is trivial and doesn't change anything. The truth is people will always be like 'oh she needs to do more' regardless of what she does. I doubt her family wants this to become about what Taylor did or didn't do.

Taylor ordered her team to contact Benevides' family, which would have happened this Tuesday, according to the outlets.

The family of Benevides denied that [Swift]'s team, at her behest, had contacted relatives.

With the lack of support from the singer's team, and from T4F...

this article seems very unclear. I know this was the google translated version but I'm reading that taylor allegedly asked her team to call ana's family, but ana's family said they never received a call and they also claim that it was because taylor didn't want to???? but if you didn't speak to her how would you know that?

obviously taylor hasn't been extremely outspoken about this but also maybe its out of respect. also not trying to be an ultimate defender for taylor but i would not expect her to reach out the family directly first, like i'm sure her team would reach out to them and then maybe taylor would help but its really unrealistic for taylor to just call them up.

once again not trying to defend ppl but again being realistic time for fun is not gonna pay out anyones expenses for a death at a show

i dont mean to attack her family, obviously this is a tragic event and i wish them well, but from this article their expectations are unclear or unrealistic

hard to even fathom which parts you should believe

Ok, I HATE Taylor but even I'm hesitant to say she was just like "oh, a girl died? Oh well" :rip:

There has to be another reason, I refuse to believe she's that cold :laughga:

Yeah, for once we can agree on something about Taylor. I'm guessing there may be some legal reasons she hasn't done more. The family could be seeking legal action against the stadium/her team. And even if they aren't, her attorney may have said to not pay because it could look like admitting guilt. This is not how Taylor normally does things, so I have a feeling there is more than we know about.

They could say she knew something was wrong, and she was passing water to audience, and seeing fainting fans, and refused to stop the show. What if the government investigates and finds out Taylor insisted on continuing the show? The venue will want to shift the blame on Taylor not themselves. I think her lawyers just advised her to stay out of it..

There always is :laughga:

But people are going to speculate and come to whatever conclusions they need to for the narrative they believe in.

Swifties will say she legally couldn't, haters will say she didn't care.

Taylucifer

that is bizarre, she normally absolutely would reach out or do something privately. wonder what is going on behind the scenes

I do wonder why she’s been bare minimum regarding this incident …

Legality. She can’t even leave the country yet. A person died and there’s a criminal investigation, nobody can’t talk about it until the police is done with the investigation. Taylor, the local producers, live nation etc.

there’s a huge thread in twitter explaining the legality of it all. I’ll try to find it

River

I don’t think the issue here is if she reached or not, the issue is that the media outlet faked a story, which most likely was ordered by her or her team to make a good PR story, believing that a Brazilian family wouldn’t expose them/nobody will believe them.

I could play the moderator, I can ban you, die sis.

Taylor is known for doing good things for her fans. I'm sure there has to be some reason behind the scene whether it's the stadium, the police, the government, her record label idk it's just a thing about many people involved. It's not just Taylor's decision to talk about it or do something. It's very easy to just say "Oh she should've done this, that, etc." when none of us know what's going on.

What a clever post :tony:

Unfortunately people just love talking about things they have no idea about just to create drama
