Britney seems more control in her career now, so if she doesn't want a film adaptation she can probably stop it since this is talking about an official book adaptation not an unauthorized film on her life like the documentaries.

I think the film could only help Britney at this point. It's her chance at letting the public know her side of the story, and the book only helped improve her image so far.

I can't help but think about the fact that Britney used to have a HUGE crush on Brad Pitt and now he might get the movie rights

Actually, i remember that Britney posted on her insta a photo of Margot saying that she loves her. It was after the Margot Hype from the Suicide Squad.

Also, didn't Reese produced Big Little Lies? It was a great show

The first season of BLL was ok! The second was a mess and all of the shows shes produced since have gotten progressively sillier and worse.
