My crazy assumption.

I think it was just going to be quietly released on Apple or Netflix, like Billie's films. It was never going to be a giant production, even if fans made it out to be. And it got held up because streaming deals or releases during the strike were...side eyed by a lot of people (not in theater releases).

It’s too soon to give up on it. The strikes just ended and I’m sure it caused a domino effect of delays. What would suck is if they let the strikes kill it.
 

I really hope not, because after the disaster that was the ARTPOP era and Covid ruining what Chromatica was going to be, I’d be very sad for her to see yet another project scrapped due to circumstances out of her control.

it has become too random of a period to release it… the tour ended last year so idk… ofc there is demand from the monsters but idk if Gaga herself feels like there is a point to release it now that the strike is over

ALSO.... I just remembered that she doesn't have any fancy camerawork during the show, compared to Beyoncé or Taylor, so she might think it looks very underwhelming and basic, then scrap it. 
 

and she is probably editing it all herself on a Dell laptop.... versus an actual editing house like the others.... I hate how indie she is sometimes. SMH.

She did have different equipment on that date. There were cameramen on the stage, by the screen and a whole as crane
