He’s trying everything, including allowing massive ads like this, to scare away the vast majority of users who aren’t insane bigots. It’s his way of attempting to “level the playing field” for political/sociopolitical discussion I fear. While the obvious thing is to boycott the app, that man already owns it and is making dirt compared to what he paid. Twitter has always been the biggest ‘town square’ type of social media app, allowing for community, news, pop culture discussion, etc., all in one place. Elon wants that gone because it was getting bad for Republicans online, deservingly so. I do think the ditching Twitter/X situation is far more nuanced than just deleting the app. We sorta need a social media app like it, and Threads couldn’t compete, so everyone’s kinda stuck. And ElMo is an edgelord who gets validation from incels and conservative idiots who think being called “cis” is a slur for heteros. I despise PragerU. They have now made it into conservative states school districts. They like to whitewash history. If you ever come across anyone citing PragerU just know they were misled and deceived. My take on former trans people who have “detrans-ed” is this: be happy people have shown you support. I support you living however you want to be as long as you aren’t hurting others. If you felt different bodied as a child, be happy you were shown support at that time. If you feel you made a mistake, be happy you are being supported with that too.
