She should care because it's gotten way, way out of hand to an almost dangerous degree. 

Whenever she's seen with a man Galors go into an absolute meltdown and lash out at other fans saying they're homophobic, lash out at her and say she's evil and a queerbaiter, and attack other queer people because they don't support the narrative. 

On the other side, Gaylors routinely get doxxed and death threats from extremists on the other side because of the behavior they sometimes exhibit. 

It's extremely unhealthy, toxic, and out of control on both sides and only she is the one with the power to settle it down. 

People threatening violence against each other, Swatting each other, giving and receiving death threats...yeah it's too much. 

Not to mention...no one should be forcing a sexuality on someone else. It's invasive and it's rude and she's right to tell people to just not discuss sexual preferences. That's why she emphasized that she didn't like her relationships sexualized, not that she didn't want them discussed at all.

Not to minimize impact of ppl talking but she plays the masoginist victim card on an issue that is kind of totally seperate from it.

 

If a male celeb is seen with a female the assumption is also made that they are dating and tabloids start talking all about it even if they turn out to just be friends. Im not trying to downplay misoginy but in this particular case i dont think thats the reason for her dating gossip

 

Thats the life of a celeb in general (especially A-List mainstream celebs). Its gross, but not unique to Taylor by any means

She’s simply talking about her frustrations as a famous female that the media and the public keep inventing narratives about her love life even when she’s just hanging with friends. She finds it frustrating to have to explain and deal with constant false rumours and I’m sure it’s uncomfortable for her friends also who get implicated. I’m sure she’s learned to live with it but I see nothing wrong with her talking about it either.

Got mixed feelings about this.

It feels very dramatic of Taylor to still give so much importance to what people think of her dating life/who she's hanging out with when a lot of her songs are exactly about that, but on the other hand it's true that famous people can never win.

No matter what famous people will do, there will be people behind finding stuff to complain about.

Well, she was at the top of her game during the 1989 era so all those comments about her life were also right up there. I don’t see anything wrong about her making her statements there are related to that time of her life, it can be actually very helpful as a therapeutic way to close things up. 
Everybody has their good and their bad as human beings and when we are a fan or supportive of any artist we know exactly what we can expect from them. It’s a matter of understand and respect each individual and not letting what you take as their bad get into your energy, so it’s up to you to go open and read something they’re talking about themselves. If makes sense to you, it will add something to you if not, just let it go.

i'm not the original poster but it seems to be mostly girls from my perspective. not just lesbians, but also a lot of the girls who are *super* caught up in the whole decoding theories side of things.

It started on tumblr & continues on tiktok now mainly. It's heavily embedded in the usual type of people you find neck deep in fandom/stan culture on those sites.
