I also don’t like whatever the **** those faint sound effects are in New Romantics. Everything else sounds stellar though. Railing 2,799 Posted October 28, 2023 Share Posted October 28, 2023 - some parts, e.g. Bad Blood as a whole sound weird, in a sense that the audio sounds muffled or nasal? the Kendrick Lamar remix is comparatively fine - the mixing is very weird across the board, with so much being quieter or louder than it should be. it makes the production feel messier and more haphazard than it did on the original record. someone on the team is holding Ms. Swift back - some vocals are just slightly off-beat, like the chorus in Style or the ah-ahs before the bridge in New Romantics. very much a nitpick and something I'll get used to eventually, but it distracts me on first listens and it distracted me on I Knew You Were Trouble back in 2021. - the songs that have always been Jack Antonoff-produced are the most faithful to the originals, as expected - best song Wonderland got what it deserved Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

EGOT2027 10,894 Posted October 28, 2023 Share Posted October 28, 2023 i do agree that the vault songs sound very midnights-vibes though. when 1989 came out, she said she wrote hundreds of songs for it. artists love to exaggerate and say stuff like that, but i almost wonder if most of them were written with max martin and she either didn’t want to or couldn’t use them for that reason. also, i think for 1989 specifically, we’ve all heard these singles sooooooo many times. it was always going to be the album people noticed the most minute differences on Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
