The guy was in the jump seat of the cockpit with the other pilots. Apparently it’s very common for off-duty pilots to sit there and converse with on-duty pilots while heading to their home base.

I searched this up. So aparently not necessairily because there arent enough to cover every single flight (not surprised as there are so many)

 

So a good portion of flights do but its random and of course to keep a secret its not disclosed which flights have one
