Karl 3,293
I second Dancer in the dark, soul crushing film. Also the ending of lost in translation is very melancholy. I also cried at everything everywhere all at once.
clementine 290
Parasite makes me wanna cry for some reason and I recently watched it again so that movie came to mind. I really feel saddened by the rich families attitude towards poor people and their expressions of disgust at their apparently different smell because of where they live. The son’s letter at the end is so sad too the one movie that made me cry so hard more than ever was forrest gump though. I felt SO sad about his relationship and his fear about his son being smart or not… I fell over crying and my friends all laughed at me Can I... borrow a piece of your chicken? GAMS 1,834
Requiem for a Dream and The Butterfly Effect always get me, deeply depressing and gritty. GAMS, gay popstar

Bolkins 4,112
The Impossible, v much a tear jerker but has uplifting moments to soften the blow. Revolutionary road is another one that gets me going, but that one is just bleak throughout. Not the bore worms!

kurtz 52
I was teaching high school history when “Life is Beautiful” came out. If you don’t know, in the story a father creates an elaborate fantasy to protect his son from knowing they are in a Nazi death camp. I was so impressed with the movie that I offered students extra credit if they went to the movie and wrote a review of it with their ticket stub attached. One girl told me the movie made her cry. I asked why. “Because I don’t have anyone in my life who would do that for me.” Was not expecting that answer and I still get emotional thinking about it all these years later!
