Yass a 70's/80's rock sound would make a lot of sense, and be pretty full circle actually. The Fame was heavily Glam Rock inspired especially the non-singles. And also some influences in The Fame Monster, Born This Way (and glam metal influence on Electric Chapel), and even Perfect Illusion.

As long as it’s done well, yes. I don’t think it will a huge commercial success but if the music is good then I’m here for it.

Chromatikitten

Dreamy stadium-shaking + lighters in the air + Angels Like You-ish 80s-inspired synth pop rock power ballad anthems like Total Eclipse of the Heart, Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now, Crazy For You, Purple Rain, Glory of Love, Take My Breath Away, Open Arms pls :vegas:

The thing is, Gaga is a commercial POP star. Yes she has dived into different genres but she’s never FULLY embraced a genre to the 100. Chromatica was supposed to be “heavily” house inspired, and yes there were house influences but it was all too watered down.

yes she can do glamrock, but it will never be in the way you expect her to do it.

also, maybe her label won’t let her take that route bcs Miley’s “glamrock” albums have never been that succesful

I am afraid you are right. She‘ll always make commercial music… 🤷🏻‍♀️

It’s clear tbh, she’ll always put her on twist on it for sure (Aura, Venus, Bad Romance, 911,…)  but Gaga (or her team) thinks way too much about the radio and what might work and what not. she hasn’t taken real risks in years

so to expect her to suddenly go full on glamrock as if she’s not a POP star, is just delusional

Which is a shame. I couldn’t care less about charts and sales. I only care about great music. But pop fans do care about these things and worship commercial success more than anything else, as it seems.
