When Romania still had 20 milliion+ inhabitants, I always considered RO as MIDDLE (compared to other European countries, not the World). And yes, anthing more populous than RO (like like Italy, Poland, UK) was already big and anything less poplous (Greece, Belgium, Norway) was small. So RO really was MIDDLE in my opinion.

Now that RO dropped below 20 million, it is turning slowly towards being small.

I think Moldova should remain an independent country and that this has positive effects on the Romanian-speaking world and more advantages to the cultural sphere. Like, when there is Eurovision Song Contest, both Moldova and Romania can participate and in general they have the better songs compared to others. Also when Germany sucks, German can migrate to Austria or Switzelrand without learning a new language; this wouldn't work if all of German-speaking Europe was one country. When people don't like RO laws, they could migrate to Moldova, althogh this is unlikely b/c Moldova is so poor. Having multiple countries speaking the same language has imo more advantages because people can choose the country that suits them best and most rather than have one standard size for all.

Also I think Transnistria should be a real independent country (it de facto already is), under the condition that Romanian and Russian are equal languages and Romanian and Russian equally tought in schools and all leading politicians should have perfect knowledge of both Romanian and Russian; and Transnistria should imo be a neutral country that serves as a bridge between Russia and the Romanian-speaking world and make contributions to peace. So there would be three RO-speaking states in the world (inirectly they already are).

By the way, I really don't consider RO as small, in musical terms I even consider it rather big and influential. I decided to make the post about its music in your other topic about Romanian b/c it would be off-topic here.
