There is still ONLY one #1 spot at any given time. The artists u compete with are also subject to the same chart rules. So its still just as hard as before. Only 1 artist at any given week will have their song at #1. 

 

It was true in 1960 and it will he true in 2060... #1 is #1. Only 1 person can be in that slot no matter what the chart rules or dynamics are at any given time. So on a relative basis, it will always be roughly as hard

gaga has the talent and couldve been as big but she stopped trying to stay relevant - shes just doing what she wants as an artist 

bey could be as big as MJ because the general public just doesnt care about her music like they did with MJ, she has influenced a lot of r&b artists though so shes def the closest we currently have
