A Very Gaga Holida 21,239
I mean, I would have done that too. People spend their time saying “you are nothing compared to him”, and he knows it. He is aware that MJ is way above the charts and that these charts don’t reflect how big a song is anymore, people hate on him for no reason. Same goes for Taylor Swift. Let younger artists break old records, it won’t change your lives or the fact that MJ is the absolute king.
Monstermilo 3,824
none of the new kids are even close to MJ beyonce maybe - but streaming has ruined the charts FR and it seems like all these artists that have established fanbases just get a number one every single time they release music. drakes about to occupy most of the top 10 in the hot 100 for a third time....... i feel like thats the epitome of market over saturation, they need to re calculate how streaming plays into the charts........ Roughhouse Dandy 8,827
It must be fun disregarding the change in the times and methods of consuming music in order to pretend to reach any kind of level of success on par with Michael Jackson. Looks like he's having a blast. This is my Hannah Montana™️ lipgloss.

I still maintain the only living artist I would even compare to MJ is Beyoncé. Not even for sales either, just from pure cultural impact. That's the thing that's most impressive about MJ's legacy. It's freaking EVERYWHERE. His influence is in every pop star doing it today Bey's the only artist with comparable reach tbh. Still has a long way to go, but she's got the potential to actually do it. I'm not even a Beyoncé fan either

Honestly I haven’t heard even one track from his latest 5 number ones. Here in Eastern Europe he is not very popular Im pretty sure people over 50 have never heard his name. Comparing himself to MJ is laughable, hopefully he knows that back in the day it was much harder to earn a number one. Only 1 person can be at #1 at any given time tho. I never got this argument... No matter what time period u exist in... theres still only one #1 spot and the artists u compete with also exist in the same time frame

No matter what time period u exist in... theres still only one #1 spot and the artists u compete with also exist in the same time frame the amount of sales required today for a number 1 is much smaller than compared to back then when you had no choice but to buy music. if you look at the numbers, today's hits only need 100,000s of sales because the majority now stream and a big bunch of streams equates to 1 sale you'd need a seriously dedicated and massive fanbase to secure a number 1 back then because they couldn't just stream it for free on loop, they had to actually spend their money on your music and have people talking about it mother, what must i do?
