All the Nordic/ Scandinavian countries are cracking down on Middle Eastern+ North African immigrants and this will fuel it even further. I live in Finland and Sweden and it has never been more anti-Muslim here.

My comment is not meant to attack anyone, I’m just reporting it as it is. Things are not so black and white but this is the situation these days. Recently, a politician who cited the Bible to justify her actions also faced huge backlash.

This is just sad. Sad it happened and sad that we are going to see more Muslims be discriminated against over things like this (and these people probably aren't even Muslim, just claiming to be) across the world. Just like what happened in the US where a little girl and her mother were shot for being Muslim, and the little girl died.

I would not be surprised if at this point this is a majority opinion with most Western publics

Unfortunately multiculturalism doesn't always work out so great - cultures cannot reside together unless there is mutual respect and unfortunately there are a lot of incompatibilities that make this difficult.

In my Country which is exeptionally diverse... for the most part everyone gets along fine (theres always exeptions to that rule and a few bigots naturally)

 

I think the secret is that here in Canada much of the population (both immigrants and Canadian Born alike) are not as vocal about their opinions and politics than in much of the Western World, certainly less than in the US.

 

Ppl kinda keep their opinions to themselves or within group of ppl they know think like them and it largely stays that way. Insisting ur in the right and starting fights may make u feel more morally satasfied with yourself and righteous but in the grand scheme of things sometimes it just causes divisions and makes ppl more defensive and even more close minded. Theres a time to know when to speak and when to just leave a discusion alone

 

Polorization has increased somewhat from American influence i think tho. I hope it doesnt rub off anymore than it already has cuz at least for now its mostly peaceful

This is really sad! Jews and Muslims are being killed in foreign countries now, so im worried as im visiting America. Even my American friend stopped wearing his hat I gave him with Arabic letters. Just yesterday a man killed a 6 year old boy because he was Muslim in America!

Yeah and it is sadly the truth that both cultures are not compatible at all. People will usually compare Europe to the US in this regard but fail to realize that the Muslims in the US are not the same as the ones who live in Europe.

I live in Scandinavia as well and I am not surprised why people feel this way. A huge chunk of people who moved here are sadly economic migrants and many do not care to integrate. Even I, as a Serbian/Hungarian/Swede, had a parent who literally didn't give two shits about learning the language or integrate. So yeah, governments all around Europe know they ****ed up.
