So we need them all to be in traditional marriages having babies all day so that the population of India can thrive and their cities can fill up. I get its just a joke... but a little unknown fyi to many, India recently dropped below its repacement rate of births A lot of the comments that india needs to slow down their births etc are dated. They already been heading in that direction for a while. Mind you it was the saviour of humanity the great Brits who criminalised it at the first place. There's lots of change happening in India. Unlike Muslim countries or China, it's a lot better here. No legal issues or anything such. India's biggest actors are playing gay roles. Indian SC was the one who gave official and legal recognition to third gender (Intersex) people. I think the verdict would be that gays can marry under Special Marriage Act, not Hindu Marriage Act. Let's see.... Though in few years I can see a proper verdict allowing the homosexual union completely. The main issue is religion. Marriage act are based on faith. While Hindu marriage act can adjust gay marriage, Muslim Personal Law is completely against it. That makes Hindus resist it even more, they argument being that why are we being forced to be liberal when "the other" can continue to stay in stone age!? Its been almost 100 years since India got its independence, yet you are blaming Britain for your anti gay laws? you know the whole point of being independent is that you get to create your own laws right? You expected me to defend my countries anti LGBTQ+ laws, but its you who ended up defending your anti LGBTQ+ laws! So please stop projecting..
