It's still a success but the media and the Swifties did claim it could be bigger than Barbie and some even said it would do $1 billion. This is just an example:

So yeah, it's a bit funny that people overrate her like this, especially since living outside of the US and in Europe specifically her fame and popularity isn't as big as Gaga's or Adele's, which the Swifties in the US are claiming it is

not this like directly to u or but just this statement but if ur sources for taylor swift movie doing bigger than barbie from a website on reddit called meaww then whoever is making this claims needs to find better sources. now if someone like forbes is predicting numbers even then that’s just marketing ploy but at least a little credible but yeah idk why it even mattered to people if this movie made a billion her and beyoncé literally jump started the economy. so another W for the girlies in the room
