Why TCBT concert doc has gone silent

I was reading an article about The Eras Tour and Beyoncé’s Renaissance Tour docs, and how they’re great for cinemas as - because of the strikes - they don’t need actors or writers to make.

That made me realise that Gaga is a SAG member, so is technically on strike. Potentially there was a plan to release this, either in cinemas or on Netflix etc, and then it got shelved due to the strikes - ie. it may look bad for a SAG member, who should be striking, to release a concert film in cinemas or on streaming services. It may be technically ok to do, but Bradley Cooper didn’t attend any of Maestro’s screenings because he’s an actor as well as director, and the lines were too blurry.

Similarly, I think the lines would be too blurred with a TCB tour doc, and that’s probably why it’s all gone quiet.

As far as I know, TS and BK aren’t SAG members so should be free to do what they want.

Taylor is SAG member also and she got permission to release it. She got interim agreement with SAG-AFTRA to release it.

While there no news on Yoncè, since she is also a SAG member, let's assume she also have the same interim agreement to release her movie.

It can happen if/when the artist really want it to happen

I have a feeling that there is not yet a stable deal with a streaming platform 

If there was a deal already, the streamer could do all the promo it needs on its own

I'm not waiting for it anymore. If it arrives, then it would be a nice surprise.

However Taylor doesn’t have a potential best actress nom on the way with a movie next year … I truly think she’s trying to play her cards right with the film industry 

atm I don’t think she feels being labeled a scab for the sake of her pop career given the trajectory she has in film rn

If there wasn’t a stable deal w/ a streaming platform, she could apply for an interim contract like Taylor and self-release. Imo, I bet there is a deal, and because of the strike, that’s probably why she can’t release.

That doesn't have anything to do with this subject imho

A member is a member, having Oscars or not. I doubt they discriminate their own members based on it. Tay did what need to do and get her movies out without drama. Everyone is happy.

I don't think this has anything to do with it. 

Eras Tour and Renaissance are theatrical releases. Chromatica Ball is more than likely not getting a theatrical release but will instead go to streaming. Streaming is sort of the whole point of contention right now, so there's no way SAG-AFTRA would approve an interim deal. Simple as that

What we really should be talking about is how Taylor and Beyonce managed to make high quality films ready for a theatrical release in just a few months but Gaga was mysteriously unable to.

Taylor Swift is a SAG member too. The thing is gaga has songs used in films, so that’s why she can’t release the film(allegedly), on top of that they’re aiming for a streaming release (lets be real, they’re not releasing it  theatrically,considering Gaga’s tour didn’t make such a fuss on social media)Also accept it and move on, this film is not coming( SAG has cancelled their meeting with AMPTP so they will continue to strike this month)

Taylor circumvented the studios though, potentially the delay could be that Gaga had a deal signed with a studio pre-strike.

Don’t think they even had a deal. If they had one,pre-strike, the film would have been out a long time ago.

Wouldn't necessarily be out. Gaga, like Madonna has a habit of spending a lot of personal time on the editing of tour footage.

Agreed, but Gaga is the one who said she was working on it lol 
And I've seen what happens when a singer get's personally involved in the concert film from all the times Madonna has meddled xD
