The preview did nothing for me. But I am sure I will obsess over it once it is out.

Same... :toofunny: I'm not very excited about this preview. I hope I like it a lot later...

The snippet didn't really made me that excited but I'm up for a big surprise, I love both Gaga (obviously) and The Rolling Stones. They feel like the perfect match on a song. And I'm totally addicted to 'Angry'

The song being 7 minutes, I just hope it'll have some kind of big structure, a hook, and strong chorus. Not sure I'll like a long long song that just don't go anywhere. Let's wait and see

Is Thursday a bad day to release a song For charting purposes? Doesn’t that mean all the initial streams from the first day are wasted because the qualifying period ends on Friday so the heaviest traffic day only counts for the first week and then the next week excludes the initial heavy traffic day so you get two weeks of low charting instead of a great first week?

Again I don’t want to be a debby downer, but I severely doubt this song will chart “well” unless they decide to promote it A LOT. A hit song will still become a hit regardless of whether or not it’s released on a Friday. For example Shallow was released on Thursday as well, and made it to top 5 the second week.

I didn’t remember Shallow was released on a Thursday. Why do they bother releasing on Thursday tho? Why can’t they wait one day and release on Friday?

I just searched and saw a Reddit post I think makes sense:

“I remember reading an article about this. it’s interesting.

"It's a little bit less about the chart game, a little bit more about the global reach game," says Zack Gershen, executive vp at mTheory, a management services firm that advises Major Lazer and advocates violating the Friday-release rule.

The strategy can help cut through the noise while giving the Australian, Asian and European markets more time to drive music up the global streaming charts and through social media, since Australia's Friday is well underway by the time New York's officially begins.

"You're separating yourself from everything else that's coming out on Friday," says Hunt's manager, Brad Belanger. "Anybody can pop up big sales for one or two weeks. It's where are you at week 16 -- that's what I'm interested in."

Thank you for this. I’ve always been confused why people release on Thursdays but this at least puts a theory or strategy out there. I guess it’s like getting more attention the day before there’s large group of releases on the Friday.

I guess it also makes sense for the music lovers community, if you release on Friday with everyone else your song may get lost in the playlists and they might not get to it. Meanwhile a Thursday release is more stand out.

It’s also interesting to note that their lead single was released on a Wednesday, and this second single release is exactly in the middle between the lead and the album.
