I’m literally so confused. Isn’t doja on top of the world? Shouldn’t she be pulling like 100s of thousands?

Been a cuff touple, a puff bupple, a tough couple of years.

Same thing happened with Planet Her, peaked at #2 with barely over 100k first week.

I feel like she's similar to Katy Perry in this respect – huge singles that don't translate into album sales

No vinyl on release definitely has an impact:

Guts had like what, 12 variants?

even if she sold 20k vinyl it is very unlikely that she would be in the top 3 and i'm not sure if she could sell 20k. Planet Her sold only 16k in the first week when it became available on vinyl.

Besides Paint the Town Red, her promo singles really aren't performing that well. Attention got panned and Demons has largely been criticized for a number of reasons. I feel like a lot of the hype was probably people hoping for songs they liked more than the singles, so that won't really translate to pre-orders and first week sales.

I can't be free if my hands are tied... 🧟‍♀️👰🏻

Demons had a Judas ish effect on her along with her bad press this era. Even tho the album and the work is probably her most authentic yet.

I don't think she has the fanbase that would buy all CDs, vinyl and cassette. Doja is relying pretty much on just streaming numbers and people who have listened to Say So, Kiss Me More, Woman and a couple of the other hits. Or does she ? Idk. I'm just looking at her wikipedia page and Scarlet is the first album she tours for ?

That'd be 32% more of her sales though. Not world changing but definitely better. I'm personally waiting on her vinyl release, which probably means the deluxe edition release.

Me hoping that more songs sounded like Demons :enigma:

It didn't help that the lyrics were pretty weak, the beat was fire tho
