Gaga losing her grip with fans?

Tbh I understand why she has taken a step back but as an OG monster since Just Dance, I'm disappointed. She's always talked a big game about always writing and creating music yet yields such little content.

I think what happened is she built this huge LGBTQ+ fanbase and slowly continued to narrow her audience. Then C2C, Joanne, ASIB, HMH was all to appeal to a broader audience and let's be honest, older people and Republicans.

Perhaps she also got tired of the label reducing or having so much control over her creative projects so she just said "f*ck it" and has music on the back burner (comparatively).

Gaga used to be my favorite artist but I wish she would release more content. Live album, stripped/piano album, visual album, more concert films, standalone EPs, unreleased? There's so much that COULD be but never will be, I fear.

Her fans will always be here because her music is top quality. As long as the quality of music doesn’t suffer, she will always be relevant.

Cosmetic industry in 2022: $100.5bn globally
Music industry in 2022: $26.2bn globally
Live Music industry projection for end of 2023: $31bn globally 

Make up & beauty is not a niche market. It's is a significantly bigger market than recorded music & live music combined. 
I don't blame the pop girls for diversifying portfolios.

Don’t really think you can compare the hype surrounding a solo project to a collab w/ an older rock group the fanbase doesn’t really listen to, a record of jazz standards, and a song written for a movie soundtrack.

I think the Cotton On collab is doing just fine. It’s fast fashion so they probably made thousands of units of the tees. I remember when I bought the tote bags it said there were only a few left… at least something sold out 

I’ve been a fan since 2008 and Im just a couple years younger than Gaga… so to me, where she’s at, makes perfect sense. She’s grown and the internet is a dump. It’s also totally okay to not be interested in everything she does.

Then please, PLEASE, someone explain how the f- is Taylor Swift on her way to become a billionaire. Like legit a billionaire WITHOUT a make up line ( like Rihanna). I remember blondie was doing commercials back then during Red. Can’t remember her doing partnerships after Reputation. Meanwhile she’s expected to gross 1B from tour, her tour movie expected to debut with 125+ million dollars. Selling albums like hot bread on CDs, Vinyls.

Let's not pretend Chromatica had a super longevity. This fanbase let it down at the moment she meant 'no promo and limited concern' about it. 

The fact she's pushing a new song real soon should at the very least make more splash in this fanbase let's be honest. Even with Hold My Hand that was new solo music at the end of the day.

I mostly agree, and no one is denying Gaga is a capitalist like most entertainers.

But it was kind of weird...the cotton thing turned out to be linked to BTWF (which makes sense, because it's not a well known brand in the US), but people were still screeching at her. Anyway, I don't deny Gaga is a capitalist, but people vastly overreact about some of her capitalist moves imo compared to her contemporaries who do the same thing. If someone doesn't like it, sure, that's fine, but the extreme reactions are insane.

For example, people weren't just criticizing her, but acting like the headache medication was akin to a war crime. It was insane. Even FauxMoi, which I occasionally read, had commenters (many who aren't fans of Gaga) talking about how insane the stans were being towards her.

Taylor is on a level on her own in the music world right now and should not be compared with anyone on that field..  especially Gaga, that's just craziness!

Yeah, there's some truth to the fact that Gaga doesn't have the fanbase Taylor or Beyonce or even Ariana has. The latter two basically did no promo (less than Gaga for Chromatica), and the fans didn't care and still streamed/bought the music.

I think that often happens with singers who have longer careers, but it is not always the case. (e.g. Taylor).

It isn't that the fans don't care as much that I find odd (because yeah, it happens), but the fact that they get so nasty and overreact about everything that I find odd.Like sure, if you don't like Gaga doing ads (and she does far less than the fans claim, she has like 3 deals and one is connected with BTWF), that's fine. But there's a difference between criticism, and unhinged behavior and accusing her of never caring about LGBTQ rights.
