I really don't get why they went with this 50/60s aesthetic if the story sets place centuries/millenia in the future

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

The beginning of the 1950s represents the final era of uniformity and in a more abstract way, the silencing of the minority before the second half of the decade and the 1960s brought with it a rising counter culture and more rights towards oppressed groups. Here, the style choices reminds us that those in power are using this aesthetic to convey authority.

Or something idk

Gotta love 1940-1960s Berlin. lol

joking aside, it feels pretty cool to see what they did with the city aesthetic. I pass many of the sets every day on my way to the gym haha

It makes sense to think this way, yes. I guess what bothers me is not the way people are dressing, the fonts, etc., but the technology. Like, why are they using tube TVs?? Make it make sense???

I agree. The technology jump between this 'era' and the 'present' films set like 40 years later... Honey... the Dark Ages ended and skipped right thru to the Industrial Age

They went from using jalopies to hovercrafts in no time. Panem's scientists are something else.
