I suppose at the end of the day Tracy is making great money off the songs' resurgence, and it's true that the song transcends whomever is singing it. It just personally doesn't sit right with me.

God you are reaching. Were you offended when Whitney Houston covered “I will always love you”  by Dolly Parton? Or you were fine with it because Whitney was a POC? These singers make millions when another singer covers their songs. They also have to give permission in most cases. You thought Luke just covered it out of nowhere?

The original is one of my all time favourites, but not only do I not like this cover cause of its tone deafness, i actually find that without Tracy’s voice singing it it’s lacking something substantial from a pure quality standpoint.
