I’m willing to bet though, with the context of Lady Gaga singing a pop standard / jazz show, most people aware of American entertainment would assume its Smile by Charlie Chapman :ladyhaha: I didn’t think I had to clarify in the title, especially since, well, she’s sung it before.

You don't have to specify anything, I was just posted something silly it's not that deep :bear:

So you’re saying a jazz standard that was written by Charlie Chaplin and has been performed by Tony Bennett, Judy Garland, Michael Jackson, and Lady Gaga is less iconic than Smile by Katy Perry (a song that only liddos on pop forums know)? 🫠

breaking my silence to say that I've never heard of this song and the first thing I thought of when reading the thread title was the cheesy @$$ Katy Perry single, followed by the masterpiece of a Lily Allen song :ororomunroe:

Shipper

This is so bittersweet for me because I know she is missing Tony but she needs to SMILE for him as she honors him through Jazz.

It's not really that famous where I live, hunty

You really expect us to believe that a jazz standard is not known in Brazil ? You know, the country where Bossa Nova, aka one of the most important Latinamerican jazz branches, originates from... Yeah...

She didn’t do this the first date, right? She sounds so good, I love it with the orchestra / slowed down compared to her piano version in 2020.

It seems she replaced Lush Life with it, maybe because Tony's wife was there

g0rl chill I grew up in the country, Bossa Nova isn't really what people used to listen there during the 60s and even if they were, they would be too busy listening to Bossa Nova to listen to American music :awkney:

Y'all create so much from so little :poot:
