that’s not obvious at all, deary :ally:

Well…yes it is. Love mother sm but it’s not going beyond at maximum $300 million as a limited release and even that is generous. $250m is the absolute ceiling I believe. Easily the highest grossing documentary of all time but not beyond that.

It’s playing for a while. I got tickets to the 21st which is a good week after it’s opening and many theaters round me are already sold out for the first few days. It might do more than people expect  tbh

Trust me, I’m a box office hawk and film studier myself and yes it will do ridiculously well. As I said highest grossing doc of all time, will outgross many blockbusters that’ve come this year. But people are predicting $500+ million when at this moment this is just a 4-6 week engagement with an option to extend but not confirmed. That number isn’t happening.

Why are people forgetting the fact that Taylor's concert movie is not playing on week days, so people who would watch it on a Monday are now forced to watch it on a weekend AND the ticket prices for the movie is almost $20 while the ones for Spider-Man were at $10 meaning less people = more gross for Swift while more people going to see Spider-Man would gross LESS because ticket prices are cheaper?

So Swift basically forces people to buy tickets for opening weekend and charges MORE to get a higher gross while many people saw Spider-Man on a Monday instead in its opening weekend. In other words, had Marvel decided to ONLY show Spider-Man on weekends MORE people would be buying tickets then and if they charged the same as Swift its pre-sale would've been around $50 million lol.

Someone take this info and clock the Swifties on ATRL because they've even been dragging Gaga and her HoG gross through the mud. I don't have a log-in so I can't.

When being jealous and hateful blinding the senses tbh.
Taylor did not forces anything. Those are premium screens prices since these movies only available on IMAX and Dolbys screens. Which is fair and square since a lot of actual movies did the same with their prices on these premium screens and had exclusive deals with them.

Go ahead and visit any US movie booking sites and choose premium screens to see the price yourself if you are still unsure.

The fact that this is not wide release, aka only play weekends, the presale gross numbers are even more impressive than anything.

You can't really compare HoG's number with this. HoG was released post pandemic where some people still prefer to stay at home. Times are different now.

Plus, HoG is a drama film. This is a concert film (musical, if it also counts).

Well to translate this for you because you seem to be waaaay up that woman's butt. If the tickets were $10 then she would NOT have beat Spider-Man nor Avengers. That's what I meant. More people bought tickets for Spider-Man than The Eras Tour movie in pre-sales.
