There are date on Halloween available for this screening. Which would be fitting, have you secured the tix? The opening week (Oct 13-15) have all aold out. But I saw few seats left for following weeks. Go get them while you can!

And that's a damn shame. Not gonna turn this into a Gaga-rant, but she is not the first artist that has acted and released music and you simply do not have to prioritize one over the other. But I guess if movie acclaim is what gives her that rush now...then I guess it is what it is...

The thing is, didn't Gaga said she wanted to be an actress first before being the musician anyway is some of ASIB interviews? 

And her track record shows that. Although she is classic trained, but she was active in theatre during high school and her Tisch degree she attended was acting iirc, like the way she told story about her teacher calling Gaga cannot be a main character cos she's not blonde and Gaga answered "well what about Liza? What about Marisa Tomei?", that kind of exchange won't likely happen in music degree, I don't think?

This is true, but it still shouldn't usurp her music career in any shape or form. She can absolutely 100% do both successfully. Now whether she wants to is a different question.

I don't disagree with you saying that she can prioritize both acting and music, but just because she can doesn't mean that she wants to. But that's also not to say that she's completely given up on anything music-related though. I feel like when a lot of fans talk about her passion for music vs. everything else she does, a lot of the time they treat it as this very binary thing. She can (and probably does) care about music just as much as anything else she does. She's just approaching things in a different way now. 

In regards to her acting career specifically, honestly, I don't mind it. I'm probably in the minority when it comes to Joker 2 too. It's the perfect combination of stuff for me to like and enjoy. I love comics and comic book movies, I love Joker (both the character and the 2019 movie), I'm a fan of musicals, and Harley's one of my favorite DC characters. For a lot of fans, it'll be a cool side project for Gaga, but for me, my excitement for this movie is like if she was releasing a new album. Which honestly, is also why I'm kind of okay if LG7 takes longer than expected; I feel like I have something to seriously look forward to besides new music.

But that's precisely my point: music vs movies is not an either or situation. You can do both successfully. I mean, I don't disagre with anything you're saying. Yeah, you can do both successfully. And yeah, I think fans exaggerate when they say that she's throwing away her music career for acting. I just think she probably has different priorities now. 

That said, we also don't know what she's doing behind the scenes. Maybe she is actively working on music stuff, but she just never updates us on it. We just never know until she actually says something about it.
