Personally I think the song is not as strong as shallow or ARUTW, I actually don't really like it that much  the melody is a little boring so I can understand if it's not as popular

It should have been pushed instead of shallow though , yes shallow ended up slaying but I'll never love again is clearly the most superior ballad on the album

I think the fact that it is SO SIMILAR to I Will Always Love You is both what makes it great and what holds it back. It gives Gaga the opportunity for a real POWERHOUSE performance like she's never given. Those chord progressions, the way the song emotionally builds and the switch between chest voice and head voice... WHEW it gives a thrill like no other!  But at the same time... it's intentionally written to mirror IWALY, the chords are the same  so I can always hear IWALY at the same time when I listen to it, and that one is just an all-time classic that no song will compare to

For me it's the type of song I only want to hear when I watch the movie. That's when I can really enjoy it. I feel that way about a lot of the ASIB songs.

Among the GP for the most part yes. Its sad cuz its actually my #1 fav song of all time!!!!!

 

But the general public remembers big hits. And even some of those are forgotten.

 

Ppl will be exposed to it if they ever rewhach the movie but other than that few ppl will ever relisten to that song

i think Shallow and ARUTW are MUCH more original and the vibe of the movie. It was always obvious that INLA was supposed to be an I Will Always Love You moment… and it was too obvious and tbh wouldn’t have worked as well as Shallow if they pushed it

imo, it's doing good on its own. Gaga doesn't need an "IWALY" song, I think its just meant to show her vocal ability. 

Shallow and ARUTW deserves the spotlight they're getting. 

I think Is That Alright and I Don't Know What Love Is should have pushed as a 3rd and 4th single. This is her most GP friendly album to date and must be milked at all cost 🐥

I have a feeling that if "Is That Alright" was in the original release and not just in the extended version, it would smash the universe. Of course "Shallow" and ARUTW would be on top as well, but INLA. Meh... There's a certain part in it that is blatantly Whitney-esque in the second verse that really puts me off feeling. It's beautiful but amidst the other gems, it just is subpar.
