Taylor Swift Reportedly Working On New Music, And Why She Refused Half Time Gig

Taylor Swift has turned down the chance to perform at the Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show in Las Vegas because she is simply too 'busy' with her current Eras world tour.

The 33-year-old singer, who will play several shows at Foro Sol in Mexico this week, has been touring the United States since March of this year but is 'in no rush' to do the legendary musical performance that usually lasts between 12 and 15 minutes.

Taylor doesn't believe that performing at the Super Bowl halftime show in Sin City would be 'a defining moment for her right now' and is very much focused on other projects.

A source close to the Shake It Off hitmaker exclusively tells DailyMail.com: 'Taylor is busy with her current tour, she has zero time to prepare a Super Bowl show, she will do it eventually, but she is in no rush at all to do it in Vegas or do it in the next couple of years.

'She knows she is at her peak in her career and each move from this point on is as important as the next. Working on her current tour and recording her old music and working on new music and living life are taking up the majority of her time.'

The insider continued: 'The Super Bowl will be a nice thing to do someday but it is not a defining moment for her right now. She knows she has all the time in the world, and she always reminds her team that Madonna was 53 when she finally did the show herself, so timing is everything.

'Taylor is well aware of how she wants her career to develop and will do things her way and her way only and will not rush into something she doesn't want to do just to do it and that includes the Super Bowl.'

Meanwhile, a source close to the NFL revealed: 'Taylor will have her opportunity to be the Super Bowl Halftime Show and has been asked a handful of times but when it comes to next year and the show in Vegas, it will not be her.

She wants to be a part of the show at some point and is leaning towards doing it in a few years, especially if the Super Bowl is in Nashville.

'But when it comes to Vegas, any Taylor fans shouldn't be excited that she is going to do it, because it isn't happening,' they added.

Representatives for Taylor and the NFL did not respond to requests for comment.

she's performing Super Bowls every weekend right now, obvi she doesn't need it and would just blend into the rest of the eras tour I feel

It’s smart of her to hold out until all her re recordings are released so she can gain from the streams after the performance which is the reason artists do it.

yeah, for sure. imagine if gaga's was during the born this way era instead of later on. she wouldn't have had all the public love she'd garnered during cheek to cheek and joanne, she wouldn't have million reasons to perform, she wouldn't have yet won so many people over to her vocal ability. the moment you pick is definitely important.

because i know that if gaga had done it earlier the whole thing would've just been written off as a gimmick act (as she was often seen at the time), and whilst taylor wouldn't receive the same criticism, it mirrors gaga's in that it shows how important it is to pick a good moment for it.

There is a break between her tour dates during coachella (Singapur on March 9th and next show May 9th in Paris), seems like they kept it open for a potentially performance there

considering she was seen leaving studios in NYC and was confirmed that she recorded new songs in between her LA shows, we might get TS11 soon
