This isn't meant to discredit any side of the story, but I'm genuinely interested how the "always believe victims" rhetoric will be applied here.

This will get complex for sure. Either way this is already truly sad.

As with all these celebrity stories, I won't believe anyone.

My immediate gut reaction is that I believe him but I also think Brits got serious mental health issues and any attack wouldn't have been out of a place of pure malice/abuse etc. Hope they can both find peace in their separate ways and not turn this into a mud drag contest.

What about if it's true though and she did? 

He'd be entitled to talk about it. 

I think it's really difficult to tell what actually goes on behind closed doors.so I wouldn't automatically not believe it.

I’m sorry to say guys but I think we may have not seen this from a 360 perspective given we all supported the Free Britney movement. If true, is there a history of her attacking him before leaving her conservatorship? I’d assume no because her family would’ve protested heavily about this if she did.

On the flip side, I always had a hunch that Sam’s intention with Britney was a little suspect.

I believe him, Britney is not ok. While I think the conservatorship was extreme I still think Britney should have someone overseeing her mental well-being and assisting in major decision making, maybe some kind of rehab for a while

In my opinion, of course we don’t know if this is true. Part of me thinks he is an opportunist- and part of me thinks she is completely mentally unstable and has been for a long time, and is completely capable of such a thing. 
 

People want so badly for her to always be in the right, and for her to be completely mentally able to take care of herself- but just like her grandmother(who killed herself) I believe Britney had inherited mental illness as well. Combine that with the trauma of being a teenage star- and yes, one is completely capable of giving their husband a black eye.

Sam hasn't been shy about speaking out before, so hopefully he makes his on statement soon instead of relying on "sources".

This is Sam responding to the claims by TMZ in May.

Lets refrain from armchair diagnosing please. Nobody is saying Britney is fine or that she doesn't have issues but relax.
