I’m sorry but I just can’t help but laugh :ladyhaha: I can’t believe a man like this would’ve been part of Gaga’s family. It’s so weird to me, but… anyway :flippy:

Guys before you bash him read the article,

he’s basically saying he doesn’t mind them but wishes they’d be respectful cause they haven’t been according to him. Which is completely valid if true.

Classic narc behavior....of course he's running to the media again when she has J & P starting in a few weeks. I bet he'll do it again when her next album drops.

I think he's one of those old guys who was always kind of conservative, and then started spiraling and became worse when Trump was elected. I mean, obviously we don't know Gaga, but I do think it's interesting that she's gone from occasionally posting pics in his restaurant, etc. to nothing. Defn. seems like their relationship might have changed.

I feel really bad for her tbh. He's her father...it's not like he's a distant relative....but at the same time he is so ideologically different, defends the man who attacked her, and uses her name for media attention.

There's a 50/50 chance an old white New Yorker might be conservative, esp. if they are from certain areas of the city. I'm not shocked. A lot of conservatives end up with really liberal or even leftist kids, and then there's the reverse like that Fox news guy whose mom is fairly progressive. Also, some of those conservatives were like....Bloomberg style conservatives who just went batshit around 2016.

I'm just surprised that he openly supports Trump and runs to the media when she has sh*t going on (esp. as Trump attacked Ga). Like several years ago, he was very supportive of her and Ga used to post pics in his restaurant and now it's....nothing.

Almost everyone is against illegal mass immigration, unless you are a Leftist online. Im not saying Leftists are wrong, im just saying this is a basic take, its nothing extreme or to be mad about. Its just weird that hes giving statements to news reports.

but isn't gaga Italian? would that not come from immigrants in the family :oprah:

Joe supports immigration, but hes against mas and illegal immigration. Which is not an issue in America yet, I think America handles this issue real good unlike Europe.

It’s just ironic that he’s complaining about hookers and immigrants since his daughter, who’s the reason he’s a business owner and popular enough to make headlines, is very open and proud of her immigrant family past and, well, very sexually liberal as well.

His daughter is a legal immigrant, while hes complaining about illegal mass immigration.

And I dont know what Gagas sexual liberation has to do with prostitution?

He's just a xenophobic racist.

Manhattan was a much more electic and mixed income area 20-30 years ago. So, I have no idea what he's on about. He's old enough to remember when Times Square was all **** theaters and Bryant Park was "needle park." Why is he clutching his pearls?

But not an altogether uncommon one tbh. This is actually fairly common among immigrants. There’s this perceived divide between the ones who “did it right” i.e. legally, and those who didn’t. It’s actually a huge part of the conservatism of Hispanic populations in Florida, for instance. It’s so wild.

I concur.

As a child of an immigrant and intimately familiar with south-east asian immigrant communities (I practically grew up in one) this mentality is very very prevalent.

It always catches me off guard when we discuss immigration politics, because it's like they forget they're immigrants themselves. But because they did it the "right way" they create a mental divide.

Sounds like the issue is with how the local councils deal with any kind of change and the issues it can bring. These people have probably escaped hell to get to where they are now. Many would be traumatised or have gone through severe hardships or even modern slavery. They need time and guidance to integrate and for this, the local councils and the City needs to assist as well. I’m sure they are doing the best they can, with whatever recourses they have. I’m not from NYC so obviously only as an observer…
