JWT was designed to have mass appeal. Keep in mind Gaga also had more attention from C2C, not just the Super Bowl.  Also, giving the meaning behind Joanne, I almost feel like a bunch of theatrics would have been…disrespectful?

Enigma was Gaga attempting to return to theatrics, but I wholeheartedly believe that the show was always supposed to be temporary until the LG6 release.

The Chromatica Ball was artistic.  Gaga had two years to create a vision and she knew exactly what she wanted the audience to walk away with.  It almost felt like she wanted to remind the GP who weren’t fans pre-Joanne that she is “LADY GAGA.”  She wanted to convey the meaning behind her music through her performance.

When I mean for everyone I mean for not specifically queer people. No shame in it but that’s gonna turn me off from the show bc there’s plenty of places I can go to be that way. I toootally agree with you on the why behind it. It was basically her victory lap of getting back in the good graces of the GP. But I think it definitely came at the expense of things for fans. I don’t think it needed theatrics to feel like it was for queers, it just didn’t need to lean away as hard as it did.

that said, I don’t think it would be disrespectful. The album is about her and her journey. The Joanne story is a piece of that but not all of it. The album marketing made that point a little muddled imo

But keep in mind that Gaga sings for everybody, not for the queer community only. It will always be like that

Can you please merge things in just one comment? Sometimes your comments get lost in between the thread because you write them separately at the same time as other users and they're hard to follow :)

Have you been to other Gaga shows? Even TCB was skewed more towards queer people. I know she’s a MPG but her differentiator has always been how she specifically makes space for the queer community that others are welcome to partake in. So having a show that, for the first time, doesn’t really feel that way was, indeed, jarring.

Yes, I've been to other Gaga shows and personally I don't think it's that deep, even Joanne World Tour had speeches about inclusion and pride. Let's say she knows her audience and doesn't have to remark things at every tour :)

I feel like JWT and CBT were about equally as good and Gaga at her best. Maybe CBT slightly better overall.

The best overall remains MB2.0 for me.

It’s not remarks so much as the energy. And it could have just been my show! I’m just speaking to my experience. The energy of the entire affair was just a little different
