I love TEOG’s video more, but it’s not as big a hit as applause imo ONLY because i don’t think a lot of people realize it’s Gaga singing it. I know it ended up very basic, but my God she is GORGEOUS in it (and I don't even believe in God), and it has Clarence doing one of the last things he ever did, and I love the sense of new meeting old and a torch being passed. hieronymus 9,756 Posted August 7, 2023 Share Posted August 7, 2023 I do love TEOG. it's very classic pop, she herself called it a pop masterpiece. the story behind it about her grandparents and then drinking with her father is heartwrenching. and then you also have clarence's involvement. sonically, I personally prefer the theatrically and risks taken on applesauce.
