This is assets like bonds for government debt it buys with money it prints to increase liquidity into the system and raise inflation and/or keep interest rates down Now ever since quantitative Easing ended (money printing to buy assets) it shortly after started quantitative tightening (selling the assets and destroying the currency it created) the balance sheet has fallen to $8.2 Trillion with a drop of $759 Billion Quantitative Tightening has the opposite impact of quantitative easing.
